2019 Acura RDX vs Lexus NX

2019 Acura RDX

It’s time to live life in luxury. With a luxury compact SUV, you’ll be able to do just that. That being said, you don’t just want any old SUV if you’re in the market for one. You want a vehicle you’re proud to call your own.

That’s why Speedcraft Acura is comparing the 2019 Acura RDX vs. Lexus NX. These are two of the leading models in the class, and they’re cars Warwick, Providence, and Coventry drivers should know about.

Acura RDX vs Lexus NX Performance

2019 Acura RDX Engine SpecsPerformance is something that matters to every driver. You want to be behind the wheel of a vehicle that can go places and do great things. Both the Acura RDX and Lexus NX offer powerful engine options, but only one of these vehicles makes it clear which has the most power. Hint: It’s not the Lexus NX.

The 2019 Acura RDX comes with a 2.0L turbocharged engine. It’s mated to a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission. It delivers up to 272 horsepower. The Lexus NX, while powerful, simply lags behind the Acura RDX. When you want that extra power, you won’t have it in the Lexus, which makes 235 horsepower.

Plus, even though the Acura RDX offers more horsepower, it doesn’t sacrifice fuel economy: It gets an EPA-estimated 22 city/28 highway MPG in front-wheel drive models*. Additionally, you can add all-wheel drive functionality to both SUVs, for better grip on the roads whether they’re wet or dry.

2019 Acura RDX vs 2019 Lexus NX Technology

Have your technology at your beck and call even as the wheels are in motion. The 2019 Acura RDX offers Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ standard. It’s a smarter way to use your phone while in your car; there’s no more looking down to text or picking up the phone to field a call. Get directions, play your favorite songs, and make a phone call just by pressing the touchscreen.

The Lexus NX does offer Apple CarPlay™, but not as a standard feature. It does not carry Android Auto™.

Right in the center stack of the Acura RDX is the large 10.2-inch touchscreen, which comes standard. The screen is easy to see and interact with. Meanwhile, the Lexus NX comes with an 8-inch screen, which doesn’t quite match up to what the RDX can offer. Want better tech? The choice is crystal clear.

Interior Amenities

2019 Acura RDX InteriorWhen it comes to the interior setup, the entire family will be able to fit inside comfortably in either of these SUVs, with seating for five in both the Acura RDX and Lexus NX. The spacious cabins are welcoming for taller drivers, but in terms of front headroom, the Acura RDX outpaces the Lexus NX.

Cargo space is another major advantage for the 2019 RDX. When the rear seats are folded down, you’ll have 58.9 cubic feet of room, with under-floor storage for smaller items. The 2019 Lexus NX has just 54.6 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded down.
