Regular maintenance is essential for keeping your Acura running at optimal performance, as well as ensuring that you and your passengers remain safe on the road. To help ensure that your model is up to date with all of its necessary services, we’ve compiled a list of effective maintenance tips below:

1. Check Your Fluids – This includes oil, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and transmission fluid. If any of these levels are low, it could be an indication of larger issues such as a leak or faulty part. Checking the fluids in your vehicle should be done at least once every two months to ensure they are topped off and clean. Any discolorations or grainy textures may indicate a problem which should be brought to the attention of a certified Acura technician.

2. Change Your Oil – Regular oil changes are an important part of preventive maintenance. Change your oil regularly per the Maintenance Minder. Doing so will ensure that your engine is well-lubricated and running efficiently. If you wait too long between oil changes, the quality of your oil can start to degrade, resulting in reduced fuel economy and accelerated engine wear.

3. Keep Tires Inflated & Rotate Them – Keeping your tires properly inflated is a must for safety reasons as overinflation or underinflation can cause blowouts or excessive wear on either side of the tire, respectively. It’s also important to rotate your tires every 5,000 miles or 6 months (whichever comes first). Doing so will help improve the longevity of your tires and maintain their superior performance.

4. Check Battery Level – Batteries can last up to 3-5 years depending on how often you use your vehicle and the climate in which you live. To ensure that your battery is still functioning properly, have it tested periodically. If any issues are found, be sure to replace it as soon as possible to avoid costly repairs down the line.

5. Pay Attention To Warning Lights – When a warning light appears on your dashboard, this indicates an issue with one of the many systems in your car, such as brakes or oil levels. Paying attention to these lights and getting any issue addressed quickly will help prevent a more serious breakdown in the future.

By following these tips, you’ll be able to keep your Acura running at peak performance and ensure maximum safety for both you and your passengers.
